Another New Layout

Yep, already. I know I didn’t have the last layout up for too long but due to special circumstances, I was forced inspired to make this layout. This layout was designed to encompass my Sims Legacy posts since I didn’t want to create a separate blog just for that (doubt anyone would see it anyway). I originally planned to have it 3-columned but by doing so, there would be less space for the posts – nobody would want to see a long entry stretched far and narrow would they? In the end the initial template was scrapped and I resorted to designing a 2-columns layout. The idea of this layout was gotten from one of my earlier designs (unfortunately that site was lost). I coded the old one using frames and the tabs actually flip to the other side when you click on a specific link; in my opinion it was much cooler though. : P

Well there are still some more tweaking here and there with this layout. I am still having trouble trying to fix the individual tag pages as they are not showing the correct tabs. The category view is fine. For example, if you are reading a Sims post, the tabs on the right will be orange, corresponding to related links. On the other hand, all other categories excluding the Sims posts will have green tabs. Special thanks to my bf for help with scripting that.

Like I said this layout is still a bit incomplete. I have been working on it nonstop for the past 5 days and right now, I am in major need of a Sims break. Work shall resume tonight, hopefully? By the way the name of this layout is Tablet! I know isn’t it creative? /sarcastic.

Sims 3 and Legacy!

I got Sims 3 a few days and played around for a bit. In many ways it’s similar to the Sims 2 except with a handful of new add-ons. I love playing with the CAS features though, so many customizations! Gotta love that. Otherwise there are also a lot more places Sims can visit while they are in town, such as the library, gym (free facilities!), parks.. and others. In addition to the random town events that happen every few days, the graphics have seemingly improved from Sims 2 as well.

Since the official rules for the new Sims 3 Legacy Challenge are up, I thought I’d get started ASAP. :) Let me introduce you…

The Bloomwood Legacy! Shown here is the founder of the Bloomwood family, Valerie Bloomwood. She’s supposed to look like a barbie if you are wondering /laughs, she looked more like one when I was still in CAS though. Anyways she’s a young adult, her traits are: Clumsy (family trait!), Hopelessly Romantic, Bookworm, Lucky, and Neat. Her lifetime wish is to become a Star News Anchor. She’s also really skinny but because of her muscles she doesn’t look that much like a stick. Her favorites are Fruit Parfait, Pop music, and the color Turquoise.

The official Legacy posts will follow shortly, still gotta organize the hundreds of pictures I took while still in Generation 1. This layout will also need to be changed to differentiate between the Legacy posts and my regular posts. Ahh lots of work! Thankfully it’s summer vacation~
